According to the Houston Chronicle, a Houston-based man faces charges in two fatal separate DWI-related auto crashes

A Look at the Case

Blaine T. Boudreaux allegedly caused three car crashes in one day in late April in Houston, according to the news report. In the first incident early in the afternoon, police say Boudreaux rear-ended a car, causing two people in the vehicle to be transported to the hospital after the crash. At that time, police say, Boudreaux was cited for failure to control speed and released.

Just two hours later, the report states, the defendant allegedly hit and killed 61-year-old Leonard Batiste near the University of Houston. The bumper and license plate of Boudreaux’s black Dodge Ram pickup truck were reportedly near the scene of that wreck. Boudreaux faces charges of failure to stop and render aid, essentially “hit and run.”

Shortly after that, the report states, the defendant ran a red light, slamming into a black Honda Civic. The crash injured one woman and killed her 6-year-old son, the Houston Chronicle reports. The boy was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital, but he was later pronounced dead, the report states.

The defendant was detained by police at the scene of the second accident and is facing intoxication manslaughter charges in court, the report states. Mr. Boudreaux is looking at a mountain of penitentiary time being handed down from the Harris County Criminal Justice system. There is just no way to avoid serious time incarcerated if the State can make their case.
