A Criminal Defense Lawyer
There are few events in life that are as traumatic as being arrested for a crime. In a split second, you go from being a free person, enjoying family and friends, to a prisoner in handcuffs, paper flip flops, and an ill-fitting jumpsuit; never mind the color. Everything that was yours is now at risk.
You need a lawyer; an experienced one; one who can guide you through every step of the sometimes frightening and always challenging and complex legal system with which you are about to become all too familiar.
Kenneth P. Dies, an Associate Attorney with The Law offices of Tad Nelson & Associates is that lawyer!
For nearly 40 years, first as an Associate Attorney in the general practice of law, then as an Assistant District Attorney and finally as Assistant United States Attorney, Kenneth has tried hundreds of criminal cases in Federal and State courts across Texas. Kenneth’s successful trial experience covers a broad range of criminal offenses including misdemeanors such as shoplifting and possession of narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia to felony accusations of sexual assault, involuntary manslaughter, and capital murder.
Shortly after graduating from Nederland High School, Kenneth joined the United States Army where he became an Officer, attaining the rank of Captain, and helicopter pilot while serving a tour of duty in the Republic of Viet Nam where he served as a Scout Pilot and Platoon Leader. During six years of active duty, all served honorably, Kenneth received several awards and decorations including a Purple Heart, the Soldiers Medal, and several Distinguish Flying Crosses for Valor in Combat.
Born in Beaumont, at a charity hospital, Kenneth, spent his early years in South Louisiana but moved with his family to attend public schools and college in Texas; graduating with Honors at Lamar University with a BBA in Accounting and a Doctorate in Jurisprudence at the University of Houston.
